The Drudge Report has revealed by way of Gizmodo that the U.S. Marshall's Service, an Agency under the supervision of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, recently released 35,000 scanned naked body images of visitors to a U.S. Federal Courthouse in Florida that were saved and stored during a test of the body scan imaging technology. This may be the most invasive if not the largest mass invasion of privacy in
United States history.
The point made by Gizmodo is that the repeated and earnest promises made by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napalitano -- that naked body scans of travelers at the nation's airports will not be saved or stored for later viewing pleasure or sale on Ebay -- cannot be trusted. That Napolitano cannot be trusted to exercise the duties of her office without violating the public trust is nothing new to political watchers here in Arizona. Before being tapped by the Dissembler in Chief to head the huge Federal bureaucracy responsible for saving us from ourselves, Napolitano proved herself to be the master of the politically pragmatic dance with the truth as Governor of Arizona, Arizona Attorney General and United States Attorney for the District of Arizona.
