"The US government should reverse its decision to continue military assistance to governments using child soldiers, Human Rights Watch said today. On October 4, 2011, the Obama administration announced waivers to the Child Soldiers Prevention Act, allowing military assistance to Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Yemen despite the continued use of children in their armed forces." - via ReliefWeb
Once again, the Obama Administration distinguishes itself in the field of international human rights. Now we know what price Yemen charges for assisting in the assassination of U.S. Citizens. Seriously, if you can't stand on principle when it comes to the enslavement of children, what will you stand on principle for? The answer is nothing since Obama has made clear through his actions that he has no principles. As a former Rule of Law missionary for USAID I ask whether anyone from the U.S. can now go overseas and effectively teach Rule of Law in developing countries when the Obama administration flouts its own government's legislation on such a basic norm of civilized society?
